Music
by Joel Young
This
section covers the more 'acoustic' side of my
music, and is published under my own name.

In
The Quietness (2006-8)
Satsang
music, acoustic, spiritual, what you might
most expect on this site. Latest album is work
in progress. This work has a 'sparse, spacious
and rootsy' feel to it's production. Ready
tracks offered here. More to be added soon.
The track 'Who Are You?' is featured on The
Journey's outreach compilation 'Pooja',
alongside the likes of Mitten & Premal,
Kirtana and Oliver James.

Discover
Me (2001-3)
First
Solo album, words of humanity, spirituality
and healing. Acoustic through to rock. This
album has more of a 'full production' feel to
it, with drums, multiple guitars and vocals,
orchestral backing arrangements and occasional
synth lines.

Music
by Portal
My
other love is to produce electronic and dance
music, which I publish under the name Portal.
I like to include all sorts of electronic
styles, from House to Drum'n'Bass, from
Hip-Hop to Pop and even some Experimental.
It's a lot of play!

Welcome
To Infinite Pleasure (2002-4)
First
Portal album, explores spirituality in the
human body - and is great to dance to! Largely
fits in the House/Trance sphere, with a few
exceptions.

At
Home With The Paradox (2005-8)
This
work continues and develops where 'Infinite
Pleasure' left off. In general there is more
use of vocal ideas, and I've tried my hand at
some hip-hop grooves, and a bit more 'Cosmic'
Drum'n'Bass. There are a few more tracks that
need a final polish in order to call this a
'complete' project - it's very close and all
finished tracks are available here.

Body
Of God (2008)
So
far this is just a couple of new tracks that
came through over the new years holiday. With a deeper
bass lead feel, I'm excited about how this project
will develop. Both tracks available now.

Mobi

For
you keen historians, I thought I would offer a
little background to how 'Portal'
evolved.
