Welcome
To Infinite Pleasure
(Portal,
2002-4)
A
musical journey, in celebration of the
Spirit's delicious dance through the miracle
of human experience
The
music I write as 'Portal' always includes a
variety of styles, and includes themes that
cover the very 'human' and the material
through to the Divine.
This
first album is worth listening to in its
entirety - start to finish. Listening to the
tracks in order, seems to take you on an experiential
journey. There might be a few comfort zones to
go through for some of you, and I'm a great
believer that on the other side of the comfort
zone you'll find freedom.
Enjoy
the first offering from Portal - Welcome to
infinite pleasure!

Long Drive Home
This
is a mysterious and hypnotic instrumental was
inspired by the wanderings of my mind during
long trips down the A11 on dark rainy nights,
as I returned from trips to visit my daughter.
It combines sweeping synths, layered beats and
smoldering guitar lines. It's a personal
favourite.

Get Up & Dance
A
call to get up and move your body. This wild,
up-tempo song is a lot of fun.

Bring It On
This
song is a call to the Hindu Goddess of
destruction, Kali to 'give it her best shot'.
Now why would I want to go and do a thing like
that? - I hear you ask. Well, it's
really a song of unconditional surrender and
acceptance. It's saying - I give my life up to
'Grace', I welcome all of life, even if that
means destruction and death.

Give Me What I Deserve
This
multi-layered, pumping House tune twists,
turns and flirts its way through the yin and
yang of desire. And as the lady says
"It's OK to ask, but be careful what you
ask for - you might just get it!"
Features the angelic tones of 'SSY'

Blue Fields Of Heaven
Blue
Fields of Heaven was the first dance track I
ever wrote. Its regular house-y beat is
punctuated with ethereal sky-scape breakdowns
and euphoric resolves. Go on - Dance to it!

Blazin' Nune
This
is probably the quirkiest track on the album.
It meets you in the unknown zone and goes...
well insane. If you're feeling blocked up and
dirgey - go crazy and shake loose in the
freedom and chaos that is 'Blazin' Nune!

Find Your Joy
"Fear
is not the enemy, emotions are your
friends" is the cry of this anthemic 'Prodegy'-esque
song. It's another great tune for moving
through those 'darker' states and into the
light. Get it out of your system - "Let
it move you, and you will find your Joy!"

Time Bomb
This
is a fairly intense up-tempo instrumental has
a bit of a Cossack vibe. A good accompaniment
for a cardio-vascular work out!

Boundless Love (Portal Remix 2003)
Aah!
And so we open into spacious harmony with a
'Pop/House' remix of the 'peoples favourite'
song from the 'Discover Me' album. This is an
extended (nine-and-a-half minute) upbeat,
euphoric version of the original.
